Originally funded by the Arts Council England, the project is now a part of Develop- Insite CIC. Project lead, Pete Hirst, uses his earlier experiences of being an in-patient to help provide hope and support to those on the wards. The work is delivered by the acoustic band ‘Refuge’ and they provide: • Music Performances • Singing & Ukulele Workshops • Staff Training Packages to ensure sustainability Since its pilot in 2014, this project has continued with ward performances within Leicestershire Partnership Trust. “It was really refreshing to see such a large majority of the patients engaging in the music session and thoroughly enjoying it and having fun.” Jo Lock - Ward Matron - Watermead Ward In 2017, Moving InWards workshop training was also commissioned in the Devon Partnership NHS Trust.
