Traces
I love to paint. I made these marks with my fingers in a whirl of energy. I used acrylic paint on canvas. When I had finished the piece it had no title but then Nicola, my wife, named it. She felt it was very much a part of me. For this painting I had used a part of my body to make marks about the way I was feeling, and she saw this as me leaving my mark, leaving traces of who I am. So we named it ‘Traces’. I like that.
Big Tree
I find trees a source of wonder. I painted this idea of one after looking at trees this summer. For me, it shows the wonderful energy in life and as it bursts with life so it bursts off the canvas.

Eucalyptus
While there are multiples and repetition in terms of form, there is individuality, each dish being an experiment in its own right. Found household items are fused to the rough-edged, hand-formed crucibles, arranged with geometric precision giving a satisfying completeness, a pattern in the darkness, reassurance in a tumultuous world.
