The Desford Primary School Audio Yellow Book

| 0

The Audio Yellow Book is a digital wellbeing resource, providing simple tools, practices, spoken word and music to empower people to be well.

We are delighted to be working with Desford Community Primary School to personalise The Audio Yellow Book for their school.

The Desford Community Primary School Audio Yellow Book will feature creative work from students and will be made available for all students, staff and parents to download for free.

The school will also have access to the online version of The Yellow Book Flipbook which mirrors up to the audio resource.

We were privileged to go in and provide uplifting mental health and wellbeing sessions for the whole school and it was a wonderful way to kick off the project with lots of singing and interaction!

Students have been asked to think about the things that inspire them and create art in lessons that express that. Professional assessors will then select pieces from each class which will be shared online and displayed around the area. From these, a piece will be selected to become the cover art to the resource and the songs that feature on it.

Pete Hirst, our Project Manager and Phil Seaman were delighted to head on to BBC Radio Leicester with Andy Pierce to speak about the project with Headteacher of Desford Community Primary School: Colin Wilson and their PSHE Lead and Teacher: Becky Worley, who have both been so instrumental in supporting the project over the years.

We send thanks to all at the school for creatively expressing wellbeing.

All class pieces are being inspired by the music and lyrics to the song This World.

Creative Cat FX produced an animated lyric video to help inspire creative entries for the primary school project. The poem ‘This World’ by Stephanie Rose was chosen as the first ever winner of The Yellow Book project back in 2012 and her words were developed by ‘refuge’ into song lyrics.
