k u .co. mind our y think re #IFeelBetterWhen Lydia Towsey Lydia is a writer, performer, cat keeper, mother and ukulele strummer, with an MA in poetry. Previously shortlisted for the Bridport Poetry Prize, she’s spoken and performed everywhere from London’s 100 Club and Roundhouse to Plymouth University’s Zombie Symposium and been commissioned by The Guardian, Royal Albert Hall, Decibel and more. Published by The London Magazine, Hearing Voices and Magma, amongst others - her work features in ‘Hallelujah for 50ft Women’ (Raving Beauties, Bloodaxe, 2016) and Candlestick Press’ ‘10 Poems about…’ series. In 2016 - 17 she UK toured the stage show of her full length collection, The Venus Papers (Burning Eye Books, 2015) funded by Arts Council England. Her second book, ‘The English Disease’ is due for publication by Burning Eye in 2018. In addition to her work as a poet and performer, Lydia is Arts in Health Coordinator for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, and Chair of both WORD! and Brightsparks, voluntary organisations.
