k u .co. mind our y think re #IFeelBetterWhen Thank you 104 Partners We are proud to welcome a number of key partners into the prison including Leicestershire Partnership Trust, Turning Point Substance Misuse Services, MK College, Amey and Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland Community Rehabilitation Company. Our greatest innovation is with De Montfort University as part of the Square Mile project. Projects include the transformation of a staff garden, the redesign of our family visits area (The Gateway), Learning Together projects and mentoring opportunities and more are planned this year. In addition we have an ever expanding range of partners and friends (below) who are involved in the continued improvement of the prison. Improving performance Following a difficult 2015 in which the prison was heavily criticised by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate we have made noteworthy improvements and this was evidenced in a reinspection in 2018, which has shown the prison to be transforming and whilst there is more to do, it is clear we are moving in the right direction. Prison is not easy and certainly not the holiday camp that is sometimes portrayed in the media. Support for the men in crisis is vital and we will do all we can to support those in need. In addition my amazing colleagues work under tremendous pressure and therefore this initiative provides us with a perfect launchpad to ensure that the well-being of our men and staff is at the forefront of everything we do.
