Come along to this series of free workshops led by writer/performer, Lydia Towsey and visual artist, Scott Bridgwood. Sessions will fuse writing and drawing/mark-making to explore identity and self expression and promote wellbeing. Material arising from the sessions will be eligible for submission and publication within University of Leicester’s prestigious, Rethink Your Mind Yellow Book – forthcoming Spring, 2019. All materials provided and no experience of writing or drawing is necessary.

 

Lydia Towsey is the author of The Venus Papers (Burning Eye Books, 2015) and Arts in Health Co-ordinator for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. She has an MA in Creative Writing, has toured her work nationally and been commissioned by the Royal Albert Hall, Guardian Newspaper and Kew Gardens amongst others. Her second book, The English Disease, is forthcoming from Burning Eye in April 2019

 

Scott Bridgwood is an artist who graduated from Chelsea Art School and has painted and exhibited extensively throughout Italy and the UK. His work is shown in a number of galleries and represented in a number of private collections, including University of Leicester’s. He has taught drawing and painting for 30 years, and life-drawing and portraiture at Attenborough Arts Centre for the last 15 years. The artwork for the NHS 70’s anniversary, currently exhibited in teh GDC reception area, was created under Scott’s tutelage.
