rethinkyourmind’ music single competition for college students

1. This competition is only open to students attending UK regional colleges.

2. To take part, the student(s) will be required to compose a song from the poem ‘Morning Run’ by Romalyn Ante. Only one composition per band/solo artist.

3. Compositions must be ready for performance at the Showcase event on 8 March 2017 at The Guildhall, Leicester. Attendance at this Showcase is compulsory and the assessors’ decision about the winning entrant, on the day, is final. The selected band/solo artist will become the fourth ‘rethinkyourmind’ music artist and they will be announced at the Showcase event.

4. The prize is non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives to the
prize in whole or in part. The prize includes recording an original single for the project album and performing this single live as part of the album launch event. They will also be invited to attend the Prize Presentation for The Yellow Book winners in June 2017. Availability for recording in July 2017 and performing in October 2017 is compulsory.

5. The winner will be required to participate in reasonable publicity relating to this Competition.

6. The winner will be required to write an original song from the selected entrants of The Yellow Book 2017 and this will be advised in April 2017. The song will need to be submitted for approval by the end of July 2017. All entrants license Develop-Insite CIC, the Promoter, a worldwide royalty-free, perpetual licence to edit, publish and use each entry in any and all media (including print and online) for publicity and news purposes. The Promoter reserves the right to publish entries (including parts of entries).

7. General terms and conditions for competitions apply*.

*GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COMPETITIONS

1. These terms and conditions apply to all competitions (unless and to the extent that) the competition states otherwise.

2. The winner is responsible for ensuring they are able to accept the prize as set out and in accordance with these terms and conditions, in the event they are unable to do so then the Promoter reserves the right to pass the prize to runners-up.

3. Entry is free but entrants should be aware that they are responsible for their own expenses.

4. An eligible entrant must be a band or solo artist made up of students that attend a UK regional college and must submit an entry in the form requested by the Promoter as detailed above.

5. By entering, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all of these terms and conditions. Misrepresentative or fraudulent entries will invalidate an entry. Where a competition involves a voting process: offering or receiving any incentive for voting is not permitted and will invalidate the vote, and may disqualify the recipient of the vote. The Promoter reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of these terms and conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Any amendments will be published on the rethinkyourmind website.

6. The Promoter reserves the right to publish entries (including parts of entries) other than the winning entry and publication does not necessarily mean the entrant has won a prize.

7. Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.

8. The Assessor’s decision is final and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.

9. The Promoter will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind that may limit or prohibit an eligible entrant’s ability to participate in the competition. Other than death or personal injury arising from the acts or omissions of the Promoter or its employees,
